Overview
GitHub Code Search Date Viewer processes website content from GitHub code search pages to show each result's latest commit date and provide newest-first sorting.
Information the extension uses
The extension reads hyperlinks and visible result metadata on GitHub code search pages. It requests the corresponding GitHub commit history pages and reads commit dates from their responses. Chrome Web Store classifies this information as website content.
How information is used
Website content is used only to display latest-commit dates and sort the code search results shown in the current tab. Processing occurs locally in the browser. Temporary results remain in memory for the current page and are discarded when the page or extension context closes.
Data collection, storage, and sharing
The developer receives and retains zero user data. The extension has zero analytics, telemetry, advertising, developer-operated servers, or persistent data storage. User data is never sold or shared.
The extension sends HTTPS requests only to GitHub to retrieve commit history pages through the user's existing GitHub session. GitHub processes those requests according to its own privacy practices.
Permissions
The extension runs only on https://github.com/search*. This host access supports reading code search result links, retrieving same-origin commit history pages, displaying each file's latest commit date, and sorting the visible results.
Limited use
The extension's use of website content complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data is used solely to provide the extension's disclosed single purpose.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated as the extension evolves. The date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
